Pasta Chips Have Gone Beyond TikTok and Hit Retailers

Pasta chips are just cooked pasta that’s tossed in olive oil and seasonings and then cooked until crispy. The new snack went viral on TikTok last year, and that’s when Chef Joe Sasto decided to jump on the bandwagon. Sasto named his new creation Tantos, inspired by the Italian expression Tantos Si, which means, “so much yes.” Made with flour and water, then fried in oil and seasoned with Italian spices, Tantos are looking to reinvent the way people think of pasta. The brand’s inaugural four flavors are Marinara, Cacio e Pepe (cheese and black pepper), Pesto, and Classico. Sasto, who is known for his appearances on the Food Network’s cooking competition Top Chef, has spent years perfecting each flavorful recipe to represent classic pasta dishes his mother taught him how to make. Tantos are priced at $2.99 for a 1-oz bag and $6.99 for a 4-oz bag. They are available nationwide via the Tantos website, on Amazon, and at select grocery stores.
