Is there really a right way to get the garbage bag into the can? Apparently there is, and you may be one of those many people who are doing it the wrong way. Start by opening the bag. There’s no need to shake it out and make all that noise. All you need to do is place the opened drawstring edge over the top rim of the garbage can — like a hat. Then, you push it down the side of the can, removing all the air and making room for the trash. Sure, the end result is pretty similar to the way you’ve been doing it for years, but there are two noticeable differences. First, trash bags actually come inside out. Don’t believe it?
