Rain Check: The Singapore Hotel That Will Pay YOU If There’s a Downpour

Clear skies and sunshine — that’s what most people hope for when they go on vacation. Sometimes, the weather has other ideas, and there’s one hotel that offers a unique “silver lining” for guests who are forced to endure rainfall during their stay. InterContinental Singapore has unveiled a new package called “Rain Resist Bliss,” with guests receiving a rebate voucher for one free night if their plans are disrupted by rain. Andreas Kraemer, General Manager of the InterContinental Singapore, introduced the package after one of his friends joked that being able to guarantee good weather would be the next level of luxury travel. However, to redeem the money, there are a few conditions that must be met. The reimbursement voucher must be redeemed within 6 months of the date it was issued, and the offer is only applicable to guests staying in suites, which start at $623 a night for junior suites and up to $3,302 for the presidential suite. Rain must exceed 2 hours in duration within a 4-hour block of time during daylight hours — 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
