I Like To Moove It, Moove It: Hereford Cow Caught Playing With a 1,000-Pound Hay Bale

Everyone loves to scratch a pesky itch, and apparently Hereford cows are no exception. In a video filmed in Montana, a Hereford cow is spotted scratching itself on a hay bale in the middle of a snowy field. However, when the bale begins to roll downhill away from the cow, the animal begins to chase after it. Before long, it’s clear that this cow has found that the bales are good for more than grooming as it plays with the bale like a toy. Hereford cows originated in the West Midlands of England, where they were the first cattle to be officially recognized as a breed. They are a hearty breed that can withstand both hot and cold conditions. Adult males can weigh up to 1,800 pounds, while females weigh in at around 1,200 pounds. Export of the Herefords began back in 1817 and now number over 5 million globally.
