An unidentified flight attendant has taken to social media to warn passengers that they should avoid drinking coffee on flights. The water tanks on airplanes are rarely, if ever, cleaned, allowing mold and bacteria to grow. Beyond the tanks not being regularly cleaned, flight attendants are required to pour unused coffee down the toilet. In order not to make a huge mess everywhere, they have to get a little close to the toilet. There is, no doubt, some kind of backsplash of particles, bacteria, or whatever else goes directly back into the coffee pot that gets put right back into the coffee maker. Flight attendants and pilots agree — unless the plane has some kind of Nespresso maker on it, don’t drink the coffee.
