Red Lobster Suffers a Huge Hoss Because of Unlimited Shrimp Offer

For decades, Red Lobster has been the ultimate in fast-casual seafood dining. However, a recent corporate decision to offer as much endless shrimp as patrons could eat has proven to be a catastrophe. Americans ate so much shrimp that it cost the company $11 million. The restaurant knew the price of the shrimp was cheap, but they thought it would boost traffic to their restaurants, and it worked. They observed a 4% increase in customers from 2022 to 2023, but that wasn’t enough to offset their losses. Patrons were offered a bottomless bowl of the crustaceans, along with their signature cheddar bay biscuits, for just $20. Surprisingly, Red Lobster isn’t completely abandoning the offer. It remains on the menu, but the chance to consume endless shrimp will now cost diners $25.
