To mark the arrival of fall this year, Erin Zak decided to set some pumpkins on the front porch of her home in Cleveland, Ohio, as a bit of festive flair to celebrate the changing seasons. It wasn’t long before she learned that there was someone afoot who saw the pumpkins as more than merely decorations. Erin wasn’t too upset over the unauthorized pumpkin carving, but the bits of debris left behind that she had to clean up began to get annoying. Still, she tried to make the best of it. The culprit had managed to avoid getting caught in the act, that is until one day when Erin arrived home and spotted him………the fattest, happiest squirrel she’d ever seen. The squirrel was so rotund that Erin actually mistook him for a groundhog. She quickly began videoing the marauding squash-eater and posted the video on social media. That, of course, led to a lot of body-shaming aimed at the squirrel, along with some hilarious comments. In the end, Erin decided that chewed-up pumpkins was a small price to pay for sharing a space with an animal that’s merely trying to survive.
