Mysterious Yellow Line Spanning 20 Miles on I-95 Confuses Florida Drivers

A mysterious yellow line running down the middle of the highway on I-95 southbound from Jacksonville all the way to St. Augustine is causing confusion and safety concerns. The line, which extends for over 20 miles, has been there since Friday, starting at the Acosta Bridge. While it crosses lanes several times and changes in width, it’s always visible. The strange line ends at Acme Barricades near St. Augustine, where there appears to be paint in the parking lot. However, the road construction company has refused to comment. Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Transportation is investigating how it happened and who’s behind the mysterious line. FDOT Community Outreach Manager Hampton Ray urges drivers to be careful, especially those with self-driving assistance, which should be turned off while driving on I-95 in this area. He indicated that they plan an operation to use a street sweeper with a wire brush to dislodge as much of the yellow paint from the roadway as they can. It’s unclear how much the project will cost or who will be responsible for paying.
