You Might Be Storing Your Milk Wrong

Ask a dozen people where they put their milk in the refrigerator and you’ll likely get the same answer: in the door. According to food waste experts, that’s the worst place you can store milk. Although it may be a convenient spot for grabbing the milk, that location can actually cause it to spoil faster. That’s because the door is the farthest away from the cooling system. Instead, shoppers are urged to keep all dairy products stored at the back of the refrigerator where the temperature is the coldest. Surprisingly, milk can be frozen. However, you have to make sure that the container is only three-quarters of the way full, which allows plenty of room for it to expand once it’s inside the freezer.
