A Boat Shaped Like a Giant Zipper Pull Looks Like It’s Opening the Water

Japanese designer Yasuhiro Suziki has created a unique boat shaped like a giant zipper pull that looks like it’s opening up the water when sailing. Suzuki explained that he got the idea for the boat when was looking down from the window of an airplane and saw a ship sailing through Tokyo Bay. As the boat glided over the water, it created the illusion of a zipper opening up the sea The motorized zipper boat measures 30 feet in length and consists of a chrome-colored body, bridge, and a puller that completes the zipper look. Suzuki’s boat went through various stages. It began as a radio-controlled device in 2004, before being scaled up as a paddle-boat, and finally appearing as it looks today. The zipper theme continues with the seating pattern inside the ship in order to make effective use of the limited space. As people sit facing each other, they look like metal fittings with fasteners.
