This Mom Needed To Borrow An Orange Cat For the Most Hilarious Reason

An Oklahoma mother asked her community to borrow an essential item for dinner. No, it wasn’t a cup of flour, an onion, or a stick of butter. It was, in fact, an orange cat. Clara Edwards posted a message on social media, asking to borrow an orange cat so her 4- and 2-year-old daughters could “have dinner with Garfield.” Edwards, who described herself as “an increasingly desperate (but not crazy) mom-of-two with no friends who own an orange cat,” said she wasn’t looking to adopt a cat. Instead, she just needed temporary custody for a couple of days. Clara’s husband Chad said his wife's post on Instagram and Twitter paid off. They found a “purrfect” Garfield lookalike — a cat named Fat Orange — to join them for a lasagna dinner. He said it will be a family affair, with the cat’s owner and her boyfriend also feasting on the Italian dish at dinner. As luck would have it, Clara and Chad wouldn’t have had to worry, since at least 3 other people offered their cats if Fat Orange didn’t show.
