A pair of geriatric lovebirds tied the knot in their 80s, falling for each other after meeting on an Internet dating site. Tricia Shaw, 85, admitted that she was “smitten at first sight” when she found 82-year-old Ian. By the same token, Ian said there was “something about her” that pushed him to accept Tricia’s offer to meet in person. Although they had been dating for a while, they went ahead and got married in February, after Ian was diagnosed with heart disease and needed a bypass operation. Tricia wanted to make sure that she was there to take care of him. The couple now believes that more octogenarians should embrace online matchmaking. Tricia joined the site Plenty More Fish after losing her husband of 33 years, while Ian did the same after having been married for 35 years. The couple is now enjoying wedded bliss at their home in Lancashire, England.
