Want To See the Eiffel Tower But Can’t Afford To Visit Paris? Visit Paris, Texas!

If you’ve always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower but your budget won’t allow it, you’re in luck. All you have to do is make your way to Paris, Texas, just 100 miles north of Dallas. There, you can feast your eyes on the Texas Eiffel Tower. The replica was built in 1993 by members of the local welders union and is less than a tenth of the height of the 1,063-foot original in France. The Texas Eiffel Tower, however, has something the French one doesn’t: A shiny red cowboy hat at the top of the spindle, because.....well.....you know....it’s Texas. The tower has 27 30-watt LED lights that displays the colors of the Texas flag, with the colors changing only at Christmas. The tower is open to the public and free. You can also feel free to take your favorite furry friend along for the adventure. You won’t have to stand in any long lines to see the tower, though 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. is the time when you’ll find the least amount of people there. If you’ve always wanted to take a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower, here’s your chance. If you’re not in Texas and don’t want to travel there, you can always hit the other substitute, which is located in Paris, Tennessee. The 60-foot-tall replica is located in Memorial Park.
