If you’ve never been in one, you may be wondering what a dive bar smells like. There’s the whiff of that baked-into-the-walls bouquet of spilled beer, long-lingering cigarette smoke, and industrial cleaning products. Add to that the feeling of sliding against the upholstery of a musty banquette until you encounter some weird sticky spot and you’ve just experienced a proper dive bar. Now imagine all of that being encapsulated into an ice cream bar. Miller High Life, along with Tipsy Scoop, a New York-based company that sells liquor-infused ice cream, has introduced Dive Bars ice cream bars. The oddball ice cream bar starts with actual Miller High Life that’s infused into the ice cream. From there, the ice cream is given a peanut swirl and a gooey caramel swirl that’s intended to mimic the sticky dive bar floor feeling. A sprinkle of carbonated candy is included to bring back the fizz drinkers expect from a freshly poured beer, and finally, the whole ice cream bar is dipped in dark chocolate to evoke the dim lighting that all good dive bars share. Six-packs of the frozen treats went on sale Monday, with delivery to all 50 states through Tipsy Scoop’s website for $36 a box. Remember, you must be 21 or older to buy them.
