Louisiana Pizzeria Regrets Tossing Out Dough In Preparation For Hurricane Ida

A Domino’s Pizza in Louisiana thought they were doing the right thing when they dumped some dough in a trash container to prepare for the onslaught of Hurricane Ida — only to have the massive yeast concoction expand like something out of the 1950s horror flick The Blob. The dough bubbled up and over the sides of the large metal dumpster and created a mushy mess in the town of hard-hit Covington as temperatures remained in the 90s. Local resident Nicole Amstutz had been following the blob and featuring photos of it on Facebook. She added over the weekend, “Saturday morning update: it’s still there, but the dough inside fell, and now there are boxes on top. Dough on the ground is squishy.” Amstutz, a self-described "snacktion reporter,” later quipped, “I’m really just happy it’s making so many people laugh at such a stressful time.”
