The Most Expensive Home Ever Built

With a net worth of $21 billion, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and CEO of Reliance Industries Limited — an energy and materials conglomerate, is the richest person in India. Having that much money makes it no big deal to have a home that’s worth a measly billion, and that’s exactly what Ambani has. His massive 27-story home is located in Mumbai and is billed as the most expensive home ever built. Dubbed “Antilia,” the home is a 570-foot-tall monster that features a whopping 400,000 square feet of living space. It has 27 floors, including 6 parking floors with a capacity of up to 168 cars. Other features include numerous terraces, 9 elevators, a lobby, a 50-seat home theater, a ballroom with 80% of the ceiling covered in crystal chandeliers, an ice room infused with artificial snow flurries, a dance studio, 3 floors of hanging gardens, a swimming pool, 3 helipads, an air traffic control facility, and the world’s largest collection of antique sewing machines. A staff of 600 maintain the home.
