Udderly Brilliant! — Cows Are Fitted With Woolly Bras

In the world’s coldest village, where temperatures drop to -49º F, a local farmer has come up with an ingenious way to keep his cows warm. Nikolay Atlasov, who’s in his 70s, fitted triangular bras to his hardy heard of five cows to protect them from the cold of Siberia. The bras are made of sheepskin or hare fur, usually from old hoods from coats that are repurposed for this vital winter task. They’re tied with long straps, two around the body and one under the tail. The bras help protect the tender skin of the udders and save up to half a gallon of milk per cow.
