Nature Oddities
Tailorbirds are small birds that use their sharp beaks like a needle to pierce holes in large leaves, then thread plant fibers, spider silk, or cotton through the holes to sew the edges together, creating a safe nest for their young.
Food and Drink
Popping candy is made by bubbling CO² through molten sugar, then cooling it under pressure. Tiny CO² bubbles remain trapped in the solid candy. In your mouth, saliva dissolves the sugar, releasing the pressurized gas and causing the pops.
