Police were called to help search for a woman who was missing from a bus tour near Eldgja canyon in Iceland’s southern volcanic region. The 5’2” Asian woman apparently walked off from the rest of the group. The driver of the bus waited for the missing woman for nearly an hour before alerting police. Authorities planned a helicopter search, while other people on the bus tour began searching for the woman. It turns out that while the other bus passengers were touring, the woman had decided to change her clothes. When she returned to the bus in a different outfit, no one recognized her. Once she returned to the bus and discovered someone was missing, she joined in the search. Hours later, the search party finally realized that the woman they were searching for had been with them all along and the search was called off. The chief of police said that the woman simply didn’t recognize the description of herself and had no idea she was the one who was missing.
