This recipes replicates the tasty biscuits so well that you’ll think you’re eating the real thing. The secret is brushing the biscuits with garlic butter as soon as they’re out of the oven. Ready in just 30 minutes, these drop biscuits come together easily with pantry staples.

Ingredients:
FOR THE BISCUITS:
- • 1 cup (4 oz) sharp white cheddar cheese, grated
- • 1 stick unsalted butter (8 tbsp)
- • ¾ cup buttermilk
- • 2 cups all-purpose flour
- • 1 tbsp baking powder
- • 1½ tsp garlic powder
- • 1½ tsp kosher salt
- • ½ tsp baking soda
FOR THE GARLIC BUTTER:
- • ½ stick of unsalted butter (4 tbsp)
- • ½ tsp dried parsley
- • ½ tsp garlic powder
- • ⅛ tsp kosher salt
Directions:
FOR THE BISCUITS:
- • Preheat oven to 450º F and place rack in the middle of the oven.
- • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- • Add buttermilk and stir to combine.
- • In a large bowl, place flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and baking soda and whisk until combined.
- • Add the buttermilk mixture and stir gently until no dry flour remains and a soft dough forms.
- • Add cheese and stir to combine.
- • Using a ¼ measuring cup, scoop out portions of the dough and roll them gently to form a ball.
- • Place balls of dough on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart and bake 10 minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown.
FOR THE GARLIC BUTTER:
- • In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- • Add parsley, garlic powder and kosher salt and stir to combine.
- • As soon as the biscuits come out of the oven, liberally brush the tops with the garlic butter and serve immediately.
