Lifelong Vegetarian Tries a Steak for the First Time

A woman identified only as Sab has shared the moment she tried steak for the first time, revealing her surprising verdict. Looking somewhat intimidated, the Los Angeles 20-something sliced into a ribeye steak and had quite a surprising reaction. After indicating that the steak was delicious, she remained unconvinced that she had been converted. However, in a followup video, Sab — who was raised in a vegetarian household — admitted that she now indulges in steak on a weekly basis. Revealing her reasons for breaking her lifelong habit, the former vegetarian explained that she developed a curiosity for trying meat and fish. As well as enjoying the taste, Sab claimed she saw several health benefits from eating steak. “I always knew steak was high in protein and iron,” she said. “I don’t feel bad about what I’m doing.” Experts recommend that those who haven’t tried meat ever or for a long time — particularly red meat — slowly acclimatize themselves to eating it again, since they can become sick, as their digestive system isn’t accustomed to processing its dense proteins and fats and may lack the necessary digestive enzymes.
