Warning For Owners of Ring Doorbell Camera

A terrifying encounter was captured on video as a woman was taunted by a stranger through her own Ring Doorbell Camera. The woman, whose identity is not being revealed for obvious reasons, took the Ring Doorbell Camera inside her home to charge it, when a stranger’s voice begins to laugh and say, “I see you!” Security experts say this type of intrusion doesn’t take a great amount of skill to pull off. There are apparently two ways to get into Ring Doorbell Cameras: One is to hack into it directly, which isn’t easy or likely. The second is to access the person’s account by guessing their password. If a Ring Doorbell Camera user isn’t using multi-factor authentication on their digital devices and online accounts, this type of attack is even easier for amateur hackers. Multi-factor authentication adds another layer of security by sending a code to a person’s phone or email when they log in to certain sites. Security experts also recommend changing your password every couple of months. Some TikTok users commenting on the incident have suggested that it could have been a complete misunderstanding, with the woman's doorbell camera accidentally crossing signals with a nearby baby monitor and an unassuming parent talking to their infant. The woman has since changed her Ring password and hasn’t had any further problems.
