The World’s Greatest Stereo System Is In An Unassuming Virginia Home

Ken Fritz lives in relative obscurity in Chesterfield County, Va. His claim to fame is that he’s built the best stereo system in the world. With an engineer’s mind and dogged determination, his dream started taking shape in his backyard 31 years ago. Obsessed with designing the ultimate listening room since he was a teen, the 81-year-old spent years building a room that has achieved pristine acoustics, complete with a 17-foot-high ceiling that mirrors a concert hall in Osaka, Japan. Fritz can now enjoy his vision, thanks to 9-foot-tall, 35,000-watt speakers and a 1,500-pound turntable. From classic rock to classical music, the sound is so pure and so perfect that listeners are moved to tears.
