Los Angeles Mega-Mansion Becomes Most Expensive Property In the U.S.

A sprawling Los Angeles mega-mansion, believed to be the biggest modern home in the U.S., has just listed for the cool price of $295 million. Known as "The One Bel Air," the property, which is 10 years in the making, comes from film producer-turned-real estate developer Nile Niami, who initially hoped to sell it for a whopping $500 million, which would have made it one of the most expensive homes in the world. As costs soared, Niami’s debt on the house grew to more than $180 million. The mega-mansion was placed into receivership last year. As part of a bankruptcy agreement struck last month, it was scheduled to be sold at an auction, beginning February 7 if it doesn't sell before then. The 105,000-square-foot home comes with 21 bedrooms and 42 bathrooms. It also boasts amenities like a 10,000-bottle wine cellar, 30-car garage, 40-person movie theater, private nightclub, sky deck, putting green, spa and salon, cigar room, bowling alley, and more.
