Keanu Reeves Reveals What He Almost Changed His Name To

Actor Keanu Reeves has been an underrated star in Hollywood since the mid-1980s, but for an actor who people say “can’t act,” he’s managed to carve out quite a career for himself. Maybe his unforgettable name has something to do with his success. Things could have turned out very differently. The Matrix star almost ended up with an entirely different name. Reeves’ first name is Hawaiian — actually spelled Ke’Anu (meaning “cool breeze over the mountains"). When Reeves first got started in acting, his agents requested that he change his name. Without missing a beat, Reeves agreed to their demands and took to the ocean for inspiration. The name he came up with was Chuck Spadina. Fortunately, his agents said no way and then decided to let him stick with his birth name.
