Girl Scout Cookie Season Kicks Off With New Cookie

If there’s one thing the pandemic isn’t putting a halt to, it’s Girl Scout Cookie season — though there will be some precautions taken. The cookies are now available for on-demand delivery through Grubhub in select areas. Local Girl Scouts will track and fulfill orders, manage inventory, and more — all using Grubhub’s back-end technology. As always, the proceeds benefit the troop and council, while providing another innovative way to safely run the cookie program virtually. Grubhub has waived all fees for the organization, so you can be assured that all the proceeds will benefit the Girl Scouts. Aside from Grubhub delivery, beginning Feb. 1, Girl Scouts will be opening “virtual cookie booths” so customers who don’t know a Girl Scout can place online orders. There’s even more good news — a new cookie is being introduced called Toast-Yay! Inspired by French toast, Toast-Yay! cookies are shaped like mini toast slices and dipped in a rich icing on one side. Of course, the Girl Scout favorites — Lemon-Ups, Lemonades, Thin Mints, Samoas (Caramel deLites), Tagalongs (Peanut Butter Patties), Do-si-dos (Peanut Butter Sandwich), Trefoils (Shortbread), Toffee-tastic, Caramel Chocolate Chip and Girl Scout S’mores — will continue be available. Both Toffee-tastic and Caramel Chocolate Chip cookies are gluten-free.
