Illinois School District Bans Remote Students From Wearing Pajamas

Having most of your interactions via video chat can be a little exhausting, but it does come with a few perks — like being able to wear your pajamas without anybody knowing. For students facing remote learning in Illinois’s Springfield School District, however, PJs are now against the rules. The dress code for the school's learn-from-home plan includes a ban on pajamas, which a number of parents aren’t too happy about. Some parents say they don’t think the school has any right to dictate what happens in their homes. Aaron Graves, President of the Springfield Education Association, admitted that the issue of pajamas is at the bottom of their priorities, and they're not even sure how infractions would be handled. Since there are no definitive consequences for wearing pajamas to online school, it's expected that teachers will decide what to do on a case-by-case basis.
