Is This the Future of Dining??

Going out to restaurants will become normal again, but what will normal look like? Many restaurants have begun developing new ways to keep people safe in case of a future outbreak. Paris-based designer Christophe Gernigon has a potential solution — a stylish shield that hangs directly over a diner’s chair, and Industrial equipment supplier Sitour is already putting the shields into production. The plexiglass shield is designed to be hung from the ceiling and go over the diner’s head. The shield has an opening in the back, so diners can get up and sit down easily. Think of it as a visor for the body. While it may seem a bit like science fiction, diners may actually be attracted to a restaurant that uses such a novel idea for seating.
