You Could Spend the Night in the "Home Alone" House for Just $25

Potential intruders notwithstanding, the prospect of having the 5-bedroom Georgian house from the 1990 movie Home Alone all to yourself during the holidays sounds pretty blissful. This year, you and up to three friends could make that happen. The McCallisters’ home is listed on Airbnb for one night only: December 12. The rental fee is a mere $25 — quite a bargain for any overnight stay, but especially for an estate with an estimated value of more than $2 million. It’s located at 671 Lincoln Avenue in Winnetka, Illinois, a very wealthy village just north of Chicago. The current owner is none other than actor Devin Ratray who played Kevin McCallister’s older brother, Buzz. “You may not remember me as particularly accommodating, but I’ve grown up, and I’d be happy to share my family home — my pizza, even — with you this holiday season. Just try not to let my tarantula, Axl, loose this time,” said Ratray in a news release. Guests get access to Disney+’s new movie Home Sweet Home Alone, a LEGO Ideas Home Alone set to keep for themselves, and the opportunity to deck the halls in booby traps. Dining fare will include Chicago-style pizza and, of course, microwavable Kraft Mac & Cheese. If you’re interested in living out your Home Alone dreams, you’ll have to act fast. Come 2 p.m. EST on December 7, the house will be available to book on Airbnb. Remember, since it’s for a single night, you can expect some serious competition.
