FDA Says Immediately Throw Out These Hair Care Products

Proctor & Gamble has issued a voluntary recall of shampoo and conditioner sprays because they contain benzene, a chemical that can cause cancer. Although P&G says benzene isn’t an ingredient in any of their products, inspectors found unexpected levels of the chemical in the propellant that sprays the product out of the can. While no reports of illness or injury have been received, the company is conducting a recall out of an abundance of caution. The recalled products include Pantene, Aussie, Herbal Essences, and Waterless. Please note that the products are only the aerosol products and not the regular shampoos and conditioners. A full list of recalled products can be found on the FDA’s notice, along with their UPC and production code ranges.
