Swim 115 Feet Above London in the World’s Only See-Through Sky Pool

Suspended 114 feet above the ground between two residential buildings in London’s Nine Elms business district is the Sky Pool, which makes you feel like you’re swimming through the sky. Measuring 82 feet in length, the transparent outdoor pool is made of acrylic and can hold up to 148,000 gallons of water. It’s the centerpiece of Embassy Gardens, a new 2,200-home development that's scheduled to open next month. Transporting the pool from Colorado over the Atlantic was an adventure in itself, but installing it between two residential buildings was even more challenging. Thanks to modern technology and architectural innovations, Sky Pool can handle the natural movements of the two 10-story buildings it connects because it’s not rigidly connected at both ends. It can slide from one side to the other while maintaining water-tight integrity. Sky Pool’s transparent structure is the result of significant advancements in technologies over the last decade. The experience of the pool will be truly unique and will feel like floating through the air in central London. Flats at The Embassy Gardens development start at £600,000 ($829,023) and rise to £5 million ($6.9 million) for the penthouse suite.
