The Singer Who Received An Accurate Prediction

Rosalino “Chalino” Sanchez was a Mexican singer-songwriter who illegally immigrated to the United States in 1977 and began working in the fields. One day at work, Chalino was introduced to a man named Angel Parra, who became interested in Chalino’s musical talents after hearing him sing. Parra arranged for Chalino to make a demo tape and secured a meeting for him with Angel Studios. By 1989, Chalino was recognized throughout California and requests were flowing in for him to sing at various venues. On May 15, 1992, as he was preparing to sing at Salon Buganvilias in the Mexican city of Culiacan, he received a note saying if he played the show he would be murdered. He read the note, gave a flawless performance, and was killed leaving the show. His body was found dumped in an irrigation ditch north of town. No suspects were ever arrested, a very common ending in the Mexican justice system. Below is a video of Sanchez reading the note.
