Enjoy a Night Under the Stars in the Icelandic Bubble Hotel

A secluded retreat in South Iceland caters to guests who want to be surrounded by nature — and you'll be literally immersed in it, staying in your own private bubble nestled in the forest. You can sleep under the vast sea of twinkling stars and be entirely enclosed in a glass bubble. If you're lucky, you’ll get a once-in-a-lifetime view of the Aurora Borealis over your head. Robert Robertson, the owner and managing director of the hotel based in Reykjavík summed it up by saying, “Some childhood dreams stay with us for our whole lives. Sleeping under the stars or watching the Aurora Borealis dance is one of those lifelong dreams.” Unfortunately, the bubbles are bare bones. They have no bathrooms, but there is a service house that provides toilets and showers. There’s also no food included with your stay, though you can purchase food and beverages on the premises, or you can venture into one of the nearby towns. The bubbles can accommodate two people and rent for $613 a night.
