Now That’s Using Your Head!

When you’ve tried everything you can think of to get some electronic device working, calling customer service seems like the logical thing to do, but what about when you’re a U.S. Marine in Afghanistan and your gun stops working? That’s exactly what a Marine did when he had a problem with his Barrett .50 caliber M-107. It just so happens that gun manufacturer Barrett provides customer service for those who need to keep their guns working. It turned out that the Marine had bent the lower receiver the last time he was performing maintenance. Ex-Marine Don Cook, who works for Barrett customer service, was able to talk the Marine through how to bend the receiver back into place. It was an improvisational fix, but it worked. It took all of 30 seconds to get the rifle working again, and the Marine was back in the fight. That’s what you call using your head.
